Putting chainpull on >R, and making R's actually usable now (even if you don't want to use it, which you don't have to) is better than having chainpull be unreliable and R's be completely unusable. No one used raw R attacks before, and everyone hated that Q was distance-contextual, making you chainpull when you wanted to backflip. Q+R taking all 4 pips made it an actual choice to use over Q+L, and it got a 20% MV boost to boot, making it the single highest MV in the game. If you want to continue playing it like you used to, you can. Don't be condescending and insult people because they don't like the changes or don't know something, it's a bad look for a veteran of the community It's more about general playstyle, feel, and the identity of the weapon. Also don't just assume people don't like the refresh because they're upset they have to use more than one combo. I've been playing a lot of axe and strikers and am having a blast. They could have had their cake and eaten it too if they just adjusted most combos to be stronger and changed LLHL to be less dumb, but they decided to give the really fast weapon some really slow ass moves. They severely diminished that aspect of the weapon (as well as, you know, the chain part of the chainblades) to add wounding. Used to be a hyper-aggressive weapon with several tools for engaging, dodging, disengaging, and keeping pressure up on the behemoth. I played with them for a while and was actually enjoying doing things beyond unga bunga LLHL, but couldn't get over how awful it felt in the process. In refreshing the chainblades, they completely changed how the weapon feels for the worse. Yeah if it was just a dps increase with more viable combos and builds, I wouldn't be posting. Super cool how they made the most aggressive weapon in the game much more clunky to use instead of just making the improvements. also bladed attacks, but now slower and with wounding. I love how light attacks are bladed attacks and heavy attacks are. Couldn't be the reaper's dance slam taking all of your pips, giving you less options as a follow-up. Definitely not how the identity of the weapon basically got taken away to make it another war pike. Yeah what I hated about the rework was how they made the weapon take half a brain to use.
